Humphrey Carter was trained in the British Army as a pilot and flew Gazelle and Lynx helicopters on operations in Germany, England and Northern Ireland. He came to Kenya in 1995 and has flown throughout East Africa as well as Ethiopia, Djibouti Somalia and Sudan for the last 25 years in both aeroplanes and helicopters.

He pioneered helicopter safaris in Kenya with Royal African Safaris and was Chief Pilot and Aviation Manager at Grumeti Air/ Grumeti Reserves Tanzania. He has over 4000 hours on rotor and 5000 hrs on fixed wing. He started flying with KIDL in November 2019.
